Welcome

to the e-Learning unit

The objectives of the e-Learning Unit (eLU) are: (i) to develop innovative learning solutions to support case-based learning, workplace learning and internationalisation in our undergraduate courses and (ii) to create first class research and development groups, focussed chiefly on innovation and international collaboration in the field of scenario-based learning, and in particular "Virtual Patients".

More about our projects

Supporting the student experience

eLU develops innovative and award-winning eLearning tools for our courses in areas as diverse as eportfolios, apps, virtual patients and MOOCs for use in PBL, SBL, lectures and MOOCs.

Innovation and International development

eLU is involved in several EC-funded projects, centred around Scenario-Based Learning, decision making, training against medical error, and emergency medicine, with over £7million in grants over ten years.

Scenario Based Learning

ELU believes that interactive patient scenarios can be used to teach/learn almost anything in medicine and healthcare. It is a specialist centre for research and development in virtual patients.
